Online all Elementary School-Aged Children from the 3rd, 4th & 5th Grades can participate in the Patriotism Essay Contest.
Selected County School Superintendents choose a school in their area to receive the "Traveling Living American Flag" for a school-wide event.
2010 Traveling LAFs are scheduled for Thursday, May 13 at Hamilton Elementary School(Cancelled by school due to scheduling conflict); Tuesday, May 18 is a combination St. Francis of Assisi and Cardinal Sheehan Elementary Schools; and Tuesday, May 25 at Cecilton Elementary School. |
| What: |
An annual culminating event of an elementary school year. Students are introduced to Flag history, etiquette, and citizenship subjects using the Foundation Education Resource Manuals for teachers and civic and youth organization leaders. |
| Where: |
Locations change annually. Counties/Cities are selected by the committee, who then charge those counties/cities School Superintendent to select a school. |
